Question: Army Equipment

Any of our resident army/marine members know what this is?

I saw it in a movie today and was wondering what its called. It has something to do with a forward observation post.

What?! TLAM Strike doesn't know what a certain piece of army equipment is? You're obviously a fake! Give back your account to the real TLAM!

Thanks for the info Dowly!

@Darkfish:
I've said it before army gear is my weak point.

Great film. It never got tedious as some similar movies can be. It gave a good look at whats its like for our troops in Afghanistan.

I didn't care for it. Jumped around too much, very hard for me to follow.

Guess it was ok, wasn't too keen to the dramatic style of it, tho.

When I first watched it (on NatGeo) I jumped in right before their big firefight where they lose a couple soldiers. At first I wondered if it was a reenactment just because of how it looked. But at the end when I saw the quick 'making of' and saw those cameramen were really right in there with them, put things in a different light when I saw it again later. (seeing those guys breakdown over their casualties was a lot more sobering when I didn't think it was a bunch of actors)

The movie gets 5 stars in my book
