Hi
A few times I've read that you must be in port to enable / disable mods. I've enabled and disabled mods several times - especially the TDW UI mods that keep getting patched recently, and I've NEVER been in port when I do it. So I was just wondering WHY do you have to be in port? does it make a difference as it doesn't seem to for me.. Just wondering... thanks |

I, too, most of the mods activate the march, there were no problems.

I SH3 and SH4 installing anything other than sound or graphics mods could cause weird problems, including CTDs. If you've had no problems then maybe they fixed it for SH5.

IIRC......
Depends on what the Mod changes, and what you expect to see. Some mods data may be changed "On Patrol" and no harm is done, but other data changed may be a problem. as I said, IIRC..... Some data like campaign layers and such, are loaded when the patrol starts... and saved when you game-save..... but are "Refreshed" when you start a new patrol. Therefore even if you load a mod, the data may not be reconised, ( Or May Conflict ! ). Therefore to give ACCURATE feed back on a Mods performance, or offer bug reports...... they Should be loaded in Port to Keep the "Bad" bug reports to a minimum so as NOT to drive the Developer crazy with things he cant reproduce. Now if you know your way around the files, and are familiar with the way SH handles them...... you can KNOW which are easily loaded ANYTIME, and when its needed to Load "In Port". This is my feeble understanding Anyways........ ![]() |
