Default Help with sounds...

Under speech there are seperate numbered folders. Can someone explain how these work in relation one to the other. I noticed many aren't used, guess they never got to them. I would prefer to use some not used.

Seems many of the messages are set in the command.cfg files under messages and effects. Anyone care to take time to explain this. I saw a "Depth charges in the water" and others. I take it this binds the sounds to a game action, but I don't get most of these. Is there a way here to activate sounds not used.

Is there a max limit to your sound string related to the OOG files. Guess same applies to the wav files..

Stuck sounds, I pulled one from Pouls I like, but I notice some tend to get stuck if you use high TC...any advice here. So far it's just been this one from Pouls, Creak, probably a long file, not sure why it sticks, may go away, may not.

Anyway to place seperate wav files under the same path without connecting them...

Well I can't answer most of your questions but I do know this:

There are 9 different folders in the speech file because there are nine different voices. I think it's supposed to change voices whenever you have a watch change. That way you aren't hearing the same boring voice all the time.

I think I read somewhere that the time limit on any sound is 15 seconds. You can make a sound longer than 15 seconds but you run the risk of it "hanging" or repeating itself endless. If that happens, its usually because the sound file was longer than 15 seconds. REally sort of restricting for things like atmosphere sounds inside the sub.

I can't say but it seems you're more limited on time to the speech OOG files, more than the wave sounds...maybe both, but the speeck files are all short, 20KBs and less, although Pouls have some in the 200KB range, some of the wav files are 100,000KB plus

Yea, I was thinking of different voices, but 3 watches...seems it changes the tone to the same generic boring voice...
