Can the british destroyers pick up radio messages? I got an updated order from BDU to reposition and these 5 DDs seemed to be following me in the general area.

Well it's never happened to me. this one British DD was just within hydrophone range of me and he stayed there and did nothing, didn't even attack. so if they did intercept your radio transmissions, only start worrying when they close on you and you have to crash dive

Yes they can. That's why your radio guy has the ability to use a "safe connection" or whatever it's called in the english version
