Special abilities?

Just upgraded some of my men, and one of them says they increase my max speed by over 1 knot.. Once a day only and for four hours.. How do i do this.

Theres a special tab on the orders bar for abilities. Its on the far right i believe. Click to that tab, and your active and passive abilities (if any) will be shown. If you don't have any abilities, you wont be able to access that tab.

The little icon is a small sailor, click that and you'll see them, basically yellow icons showing they're working. If you have them in the right compartment, they'll be highlighted yellow, if not in the compartment greyed out, so put them in the right compartment to work.

The ones with passive abilities you must have them in the right compartment and activate them when needed, so use those skills only when needed.
