'Merchant of Death' Viktor Bout Will,
Never Be Extradited to U.S., Expert Says. When an appeals court in Thailand ruled late last month that Viktor Bout, the alleged illegal arms dealer dubbed the “Merchant of Death,” could be extradited to the United States, American diplomats and intelligence officers popped open the champagne. But the celebration was premature, says Robert Amsterdam, an attorney deeply involved in both Russian and Thai politics. The extradition, he says, simply “isn’t going to happen.”

Thailand being Thailand, it will come down to who is prepared to pay the most money, and it seems the Russians are pretty keen for him not to be extradited as he knows waaaaay too much......
Robert Amsterdam is also the lawyer representing Thaksin Shinawatra at the moment, so he is quite happy to stir up anything political in this country right now. IMO the whole thing stinks of evil & corruption, but that won't stop the trough-feeders as they only care about one thing. |

In other words, his chances are small, or nonexistent
