Default SH3 with 1920 x 1080 resolution - how to?

hi!
I browsed the forums and found a few wide screen users with this resolution setting. Now I got such a 27 ' monitor but all it does is stretching the ingame scenery. Does anyone know how to fix that? Once there was a tiny little mod where users could type in their preferred ratio setting but I forgot it's name (maybe 3 years ago).
Or is it possible to use such a monitor while leaving sh3 in it's original ratio setting? Then at least their wouldn't be this stretch effect (and proper screen shots can be made).
Hope someone can help.

My monitor's native res is 1680x1050 - I use the Res Fix mod and set the res at 1400x1050 to maintain the game's native 4x3 aspect ratio. That way I get the maximum possible res for my monitor without everything being stretched out to cover a widescreen aspect ratio.

Also I had to go into the settings for my gfx card and enable GPU scaling and tell it to "maintain aspect ratio" so that it didn't automatically stretch things out to fill the whole screen anyway.

Basically this lets me play in full screen mode with a narrow vertical black "stripe" down either edge of the screen. I prefer that to the stretching effect of trying to run the game at a widescreen res.

The Res Fix mod can be found here:

Be aware that this mod changes the screenshot function to the PrintScreen key, and that some users have had issues with the game crashing when taking a screenshot that way after installing this mod. If you try it out, best to load a single mission first and make sure it works for you before you get into the middle of a career patrol and try to snap a pic and wind up with a CTD.

ahoj frau kaleun
and thanx for your help! I will try this tool and see if it works. It would be much easier if this monitor could stop "auto adjusting" every program I start 'cause that leads to those stretched images.

good hunting!

Definitely check out whatever program came with your graphics card that will allow you to tweak its performance. Don't know what hardware you have, but on my rig even when I set everything up with the mod to run at 1400x1050, running the game fullscreen still resulted in it being stretched out to fill the monitor. So I had to go in and tell the gfx card not to do that and to maintain the aspect ratio that I'd set up with the res fix. Since then its worked like a charm.

Good luck!
