Default For those into U-boat engines and systems

I've found this nifty site that even comes with actual schematics and technical info.

Great reading. Both the schematics and the narrative of the inspection of the boat are very interesting.

When I bought the Anatomy of the ship type VII uboat this is the kind of detail I was expecting.

Save your money and read about U-570 for free instead.

Every where I read I see the VII had 4 Diesel Engines.. Is this true? I thought it was only 2?

Only 2
From http://www.militaryfactory.com/ships...ip_id=Type-VII

Type VIIA
Power was derived from two MAN AG 6-cylinder diesel engines (surfaced) and 2 x BBC GG UB 720/8 type electric motors (submerged).

Type VIIB, VIIC, and others
Power was a pair of MAN supercharged diesel engines (some fitted with Germaniawerft engines) along with twin AEG or BBC electric motors.

Yes. Scotty will not need to go anywhere for vacation this year, and neither will I.
