Default Act now and get a FREE F-35!

.... if you are Israeli....

http://defensetech.org/2010/08/16/is...ks-up-the-tab/

We can't even afford to buy enough of these and we are giving them away...

Was the IAF's 10 year aircraft design advantage over the Arabs and Iranians not enough? They want to go for 20 now.

Not impressed. The Russians gave us a whole battlecruiser, with absolutely no strings attached.

Yeah.

On a more serious note, us Norsemen are getting F-35s, too (although of course they're charging us for them, no fair). Hoping it'll live up to expectations.

Ugh. The gravy train has got to end, especially when at the expense of US taxpayers. The Israelis are big boys, they make big boy decisions. They can pay for their hardware.

Article quotes Barak saying the F-35 costs $96 million a copy.
Sounds like they are being paid for. But $96 million is such a small number these days.

Although, if the Israelis place a larger order down the road, the JSF program said more Israeli-sourced components could be installed. To sweeten terms of the deal, Lockheed Martin agreed to buy more component parts for the JSF from Israeli firms; at a price of around $4 billion.
And there they go.
