So what are the limitations of SSN's after refueling when the pressure hull has been compromised for the before said refueling.
Scorpion, which had been recently refueled, before its loss in 1968, was limited to 300 feet. It is prolly classified but it surely is a factor. Any thoughts? |

You're right, it is classified. Operating depths and speeds of US Naval submarines is a closely guarded secret.

But one can extrapulate. The difference between operating depth and test depth.
Skipjacks are tested to 1000' and operated to 800'. After a refuel on can within a safe margin compute the safe operating depths of US submarines. |

I'm curious as to where you got your numbers from there.

IIRC there are parts of the pressure hull designed to be cut away during a refit, they are called "Hard Patches".
