Default Compressed Air?.. Seriously?

Really.. Today I was running to a rendezvous point with U-489 for a refuel and had aircraft overhead. Now I ordered a crashdive and all was well down at 65meters. However soon after I started recieving reports that compressed air was at 25%..? one dive shouldn't drain it that much..10% I didnt even order a dive in the last 30 seconds. 5%?..

So I surfaced when safe, got some compressed air back and dove again to periscope depth. At 32x tc my compressed air went from 100% to 3% in 20 minutes (game time) (WITHOUT ALTERING DEPTH FROM PERISCOPE DEPTH!!)

has anyone else experienced this? I've never noticed this before..

Apparently lots of bugs can be resolved through a simple save/load. For example the bug where an escort has just dropped depth charges on top of you. Save, Load, escort and pesky peth charges all gone. Or maybe it was... (quietly) sabotage?

In my experience the compressed air bug can be avoided by manually setting the depth after using dive, crash dive, periscope depth icons.

ex: press the crash dive button, wait to be at 70, manually set depth to 72. problem solved.

Good Find Trub...will have to try it next time. I could have sworn I did this though when taversing the channel, being as crash dive would have put me on the bottom.... humm.

Somewhere else, on this forum, I learned that the bug may be caused by using Alt-Tab to minimize the SH5 window. Since I don't use this keyboard shortcut, I've never experienced the CO2 bug, and can't comment on whether this is true or not. I use the Windows button on my keyboard, instead.

Good luck!

He wasnt talking about the dreded CO2 bug... he was talking about the compressed air running out while trying to maintain depth.

I think Bernard keeps leaving the air tank open after he fills up all his whoppie cushions.... thats my theory.

That would explain why I have never seen it...I always crash dive, and then set the depth manually
