Default I'm Back!

Hi All!

I'm back after a break away from here. It was due to the breakdown of my marriage.
My wife has suffered with depression and anxiety issues for a number of years, with addictive behavior thrown in for good measure.

For the last two years it's been getting worse, despite a lot of help and support of many people. It came to a head just before Christmas when my wife was sectioned and placed in a hospital over Christmas. After coming out she was still fragile and then went into a rehab to deal with alcohol and drug issues (over the counter pain killers).

During this time of section to rehab she took up smoking and seeing another person at the hospital she had been sectioned with (he was in their for trying to smoke half of Australia's pot production)

Given the choice of staying with me or going with cretin (my name for this low life), she chose cretin. He came out of the hospital at the end of March (he had been there since early December) saying to her he was a changed cretin. Within 2 months he has drained her of $5,000 and got her knocked up. He lives on a disability pension and what money he can sponge of his dad (who is well off)

She now lives with her folks, who suffer with cancer, has no job (she lost it due to reading material she wasn't ment to) and is planning to keep the kid. She is still seeing cretin after breaking up with him twice.

I'm just finishing up the settlement process of our separation (she collects the last of her stuff tomorrow! Amen!!!)

Oh, and just to make it interesting, I also passed all my tests and exams to become a train driver. With a 93% average in all exams and no resits.

My Motto for most of this year has been "one day at a time", some of those days have been longer than usual!

Other than that, nothing much has been happening

Well I got that off my chest, so back to my usual posts of saying something about nothing!

Sorry to hear about that fella. Seems like there's a lot of it about (or maybe it's just me...)

I hear that

I guess I ought to be glad my ex only had the depression and not the drug addiction hehe.

Hope all goes well for what you got lined up for the future.
I look at it like this: without that baggage hanging around, the odds should be in my favour

oh, yeh, in case you didn't already know 'nobody ever leaves teh subsimz'.

Mate, sorry to hear you've had such a rough time. If you every feel the need to go for a beer just drop me a PM.

From the sounds of it you have survived and started to come out the other end of the tunnel.

All the best and hope things keep getting better for you.

Welcome back.

Sorry to hear all that, but glad you are taking care of what needs taken care of. That's what adults do.

Great news on your train training

Let me catch you up on what you have missed on the General Topic forum

- some people have been whining about the President
- some people have been whining about the economy
- some people have been whining about congress
- some people have been whining about America in general
- some people have been whining about the people whining about the President, the economy, congress, America in general.

Welcome back, now you are up to speed.

That's pretty accurate.

Bookworm, i can relate to the first half of your story. I know how that portion goes quite well. Enjoy single life for awhile, it's an amazing relief to have that burden lifted. Personally i didn't realize how much of a burden my "ex" (never married her thank god) was until she was gone. Then i sat there wondering why I put up with her for so long.
