Awesome Fallout 3 supermod

Just have to say, i've installed this supermod for fallout 3 and it's put an entirely new zest into the game for me. This mod, IMO, is a must have. Fallout 3 was boring to me, now, i can't wait to play it and when i do im glued to the chair. It makes the game much harder, but much more engrossing. It's probably what fallout 3 should have been at release.

Anywho, the mod is called:

Fallout 3 Wanderers Edition (FWE)

Homepage here:
https://sites.google.com/site/fo3wanderersedition/

D/L site here:
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2761

If you follow the install instructions carefully, you'll get it going without a hitch.

I've been running this supermod with a graphical mod called:
Fellout:

You maybe tempted to run JSGME (ive ran it with lots of games), but id advise to just stick with Fallout Mod Manager.

One of the things you'll need is the DarnIfied UI mod. For some reason, finding the D/L link is really hard. Very surprising considering this UI mod is one of the more popular ones.

Ive uploaded it to my server here:
http://www.ducimus.net/fallout3/dui_f3a11.7z
(right click, Save As - DO NOT LEFT CLICK)

There is no readme, but part of the install you must change the fonts section in your fallout3.ini file.

Assuming windows XP, go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER ID\My Documents\My Games\Fallout3

Open the fallout.ini file.

In there should be a fonts section.
change this:
Quote:
[Fonts]
sFontFile_1=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Large.fn t
sFontFile_2=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_3=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Medium.f nt
sFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_VeryLarge02_D ialogs2.fnt
sFontFile_5=Textures\Fonts\Fixedsys_Comp_uniform_w idth.fnt
sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_VL_dialo gs.fnt
sFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\Baked-in_Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_8=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Futura_Caps_Large. fnt
To this:
Quote:
[Fonts]
;sFontFile_1=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Large.f nt
sFontFile_1=Textures\Fonts\DarN_FranKleinBold_14.f nt
;sFontFile_2=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_2=Textures\Fonts\DarN_FranKleinBold_16.f nt
sFontFile_3=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Medium.f nt
;sFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_VeryLarge02_ Dialogs2.fnt
;sFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\DarN_FranKleinBold_Otl _12.fnt
sFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\DarN_Sui_Generis_Otl_10 .fnt
sFontFile_5=Textures\Fonts\Fixedsys_Comp_uniform_w idth.fnt
;sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_VL_dial ogs.fnt
;sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\DarN_PetitaMedium_Outl ine_18.fnt
;sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\DarN_Forgotten_Futuris t_Otl_18.fnt
sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\DarN_Sui_Generis_Otl_13 .fnt
;sFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\Baked-in_Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\DarN_Libel_Suit_Otl_24. fnt
;sFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\DarN_Klill_Outline_20. fnt
sFontFile_8=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Futura_Caps_Large. fnt
The semicolon is just remarking out the old font incase you want to uninstall. The rest of installing the UI is very straight forward if you use Fallout Mod Manager.

Thanks, will keep this is mind when I give it another go. Still haven't seen any of the DLC.

And thanks for the instructions, never got that UI to work. Couldn't be bothered to really try though.

I've just installed FWE, Fellout, a few other mods I thought looked good, and made my own mod to remove all of the radscorpions from the wasteland (I can't stand them) and the experience is just great. Definitely more difficult and more engrossing, plus I don't have to worry about those dang radscorpions!

Thanks for the tips, Ducimus, this run through is sure to provide me with plenty of entertainment!
