Torpedo misses

I am having a problem. I am beginner and i use automation for measuring speed ,bearing ... When i fire the torpedoes in most cases i hit but sometimes it misses for few meters. I guess that ship that i target speed up or down after i fire a torpedoes. Am i right? Also i noticed that i do NOT have some buttons to set speed manually:

i marked them yellow.

And a few stupid questions :
I play quick missions

1.is it possible to target and shout under the water without periscope?
2.My radar is empty and sonar too. It it normal ?

Are you opening your tube doors before firing?
If you fail to do this, then when you hit the fire button, the game will open them for you, and then fire the torp.
This will result in a delay of several seconds, causing your torpedoes to hit further aft of where you are aiming.
Select each tube you are going to use, and hit Q to open. You can do this well in advance of firing, they'll stay open.
And welcome aboard

Difficult for me to tell from those small pics, but it looks like all the buttons are in the right place.

Ah OK luka1002.
Are you using Automatic Targeting?
If you are, these buttons will disappear, because the game works out the fire solution for you.

In order to use the "missing" buttons, you have to set your gameplay options to enable manual targetting. The options can be reached from the Main Menu -> Options -> Gameplay Options.

And, if you're doing a camaign, you'll need to use the radio sitting on a shelf in the office to set options.

I may be incorrect here but I thought that if you have manual targeting off and you mess around with the TDC or the parts that you can while auto target is on(besides setting torpedo depth speed and detonator) manually it causes you to miss because you mess up the already completed AI solution.

Just saying he seems to want use auto-targeting for the time being.

Id also agree with the advice about opening the tube doors that can throw off even a perfect shot.

luka you can fire torpedoes without the periscope by using your sound gear though you have to have manual targeting on to do it and is pretty tricky but some people on here have scored hits.

And you can also get surface search radar it becomes available in June 1942 but you must add it to your sub while you are in base it is called SJ or in single missions you'll have to select a mission after June 1942.

There are several video clips out there on how to play with manual targeting on and I believe there might even be some on how to attack using your sound gear.

It might take you a few minutes to find them but many tutorial clips are linked to threads on this sight.
