Default [REQ] Frosted U-boats!

So I've noticed that in winter time not only do you see snow covered landscapes, but all of the surface ships are covered in frost and icicles, too. Is it possible (or rather would anyone be willing) to add a bunch of ice to our u-boats as well? Preferably ice that disappears when submerged... (I know the Real Fleet Boat guys pulled that off with AA guns, so it should be possible)

Not to take away from the post.. but the deck crew could also have warmer hats in winter, mittens and red frozen noses with snot-icicles.

yes but to be realistic, youd need to have it form over time and dissapear when underwater, because snow and icicles would melt most likely

Yes, but as far as I know it's probably impossible to get it to gradually form whereas it's real easy to make it disappear when submerged. The RFB crew had AA guns that disappeared when submerged because in real life US sub crews stowed the AA guns prior to submerging.

Yeah, and I am pretty sure that it would take editing of a GR2 file, which is a pretty touchy subject, and only a few people even know how to do it.

If this were possible That would also hint that you could create skins that over time begin to weather as well, diplaying rust, oil seapage/gunk, faded paint, etc...

Wouldn't that be just perfect?

There's a bug in the game that means that camoflage skins sometimes don't appear when they should, for both your sub and surface vessels. I believe this also applies to the icicles on the surface vessels. It's a shame

I think Tomi_99 actually did this effect on the Sub 3D Model, making it so the effect is not visable under water. Not sure if it can be done on SH5 but it would really adds to the game if it can be done.

Well it depends how drastically different the 3d files are, because like I said, the RFB guys got AA guns to disappear when submerged in SH4.

Since the moment I am in Morocco , I can send you next week the model.
So you can install it in SH5.
The rest of the submarine can then expand later.
