Someone fool ensign got dirt all over mine and I wanted to clean it. To do it I needed a graphics program like Paint.NET. I would make a Mod for this but the nature of one of the files is a matter of personal choice.
Make a MOD folder set like Clean Map\Data\Menu\Gui Copy these game files from Data\Menu\Gui, noise.dds and dirt.dds Open those copied files in your graphics program. Clear noise.dds and save the blank picture. This removes the grainy effect from the map. The dirt.dds file is a little different. Select a shade of white from the file and make the whole picture that color. Save and add the mod to the game. If the map looks too bright for you, disable the Mod and lower the brightness of the file. repeat until you are satisfied. This gives you a clean, bright, vivid map in the game. If the colors are too vivid and bright you can always tone them down by editing gradient.tga |
