The Defense Of Wake Island (RSRDC)

Started a new career after taking a break from SH4; assigned to USS PICKEREL and patrol area assignment for the shipping lanes E of the Ryukus. Dec. 17th, we stumble right into the path of a Jap. TF of 2 CV's, 2 CA's and DD escorts (3). Weather and timing were on my side, so we moved into a perfect firing solution and bagged a Hiryu CV. On a hunch that they were headed for Wake, I booted it south and sure enough, a major Jap. air attack was reaking havoc. I decided that we would add our single 20 mike-mike to the defences, so we moved into a N of the harbor entrance. Bagged a Kate and a Val. Then we spotted a big bag of Jap. a/c heading our way, and, discretion winning over valor, we dove. Now, the next day I am heading NW and hoping to dent the invasion force.

Anybody else ever try backing up the Jarheads on Wake?
