HI
I had a HDD crash and had the drive formatted. I backed up FC V.138/NWP 19.1 to my external HDD. I get the error msg "Unable to access Geographical database. pls insert CD again". I checked my B/U on the Ext drive and all the files seem to be there. Program ran fine prior to crash I would appreciate any assistance. 2GHZ ram 1GB VDO 2.65 GB AMD CPU Dpend |

Fleet Command either had registry entries that coordinated everything (which is gone because of the new installation of Windows) or it has an INI file with an improper path or two in it. Is your copy a SCS version or Jane's? If it's SCS, I'd simply redownload it and apply the latest NWP.

Ouch. Then you're definitely up a creek and without a rudder.

CyFox
So what you are saying there is noway I can reinstall Janes FC. That's interesting considering that I ran Janes FC w/ NWP XXX for many years prior to a HDD format. Surely if I went into my registry and deleted every file pertaining to FC I would now be able to re-install FC. Is this correct? Or if not should I try to install FC w/ NWP 19.1 on my laptop. Last night I re-installed DW 1.04 w/ LWAMI 3.09 and it is back to normal except that I no longer have any of my saved games. Also I re-installed SH3 w/ GWX 3. no problems. Why couldn't a re-nstall be applied to Janes FC? Any suggestions? Dpend |

I must've had a brain fart at some point thinking that Vista or W7 was dropped into those specs :/ If you're using XP or whatnot, then yes a reinstall would work. I was figuring that you were trying to get it going as it is now from your external. Since the stuff that was in your prior Windows installation is gone, FC's reaching out for its disc path and all, and pulling up nothing but free air.

Install it from your Fleet Command CD, apply the latest Naval Warfare Project and set Windows 95 or 98 Compatibility Mode on it if applicable.
