REQ: Final bearing key

Modders,
Possible to create a key which, after I have entered all info into the TDC, and tracked my target, I can conduct a final bearing check using the periscope, and send the bearing to the TDC WITHOUT sending range as well?
If I begin tracking a target at say, 3000 yds and enter in AOB, bearing , range and speed accurately, I don't want to have to double check the range just as I fire. I can make scope observations to verify range as she tracks- but at the moment of truth, I want to make sure my bearing is correct using the scope, and I want to do it quickly..... And as things are now, when I send bearing to the TDC, it sends whatever range was last calculated as well, screwing up my solution.
Any way a periscope bearing could be sent with the option of NOT sending the range as well?

Not only will it send the last range, changing the bearing will also screw up your AoB, which puts the wrong course in. The in game TDC is a bit mangled and actually makes last minute quick adjustments very difficult (compared to the real thing).
