Default A simple one I hope!

Every now and again, in external view (oh, c'mon, following your torpedoes to the target is all part of it...!) I hit one of the numberpad keys to raise or lower the view and the camera sinks continually, I'm not excessively heavy fingered and it's with two keyboards. It's almost tolerable in a depth of 20m but much deeper and the camera just keeps on going, darker, deeper...!

I find that occasionally I can get it back but I'm not sure how. I've looked in the stock manual and can't find the 'Stop your camera continually sinking in external view' key. And TBH, I love GWX but 600 pages is ever so, ever so slightly too much to read through for this blasted key (or keys?).

So, my mercy is thrust upon you guys....

Have this problem intermittently. Bugs me to no end, but usually it happens when you're using the ctrl key to strafe. I usually just keep on hitting a combination of ctrl and arrow keys until it stops.

The answer is not in the manual either

Not much in the way of clear answers here but try hitting numlock to see if that clears it: http://subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=135211

I've been bitten by this too, and it's happened to me in more than one direction, meaning: continually going forward or looking through the periscope going round and round and round until I get all dizzy...

I've been able to solve either by hitting control and arrow keys randomly, which sometimes seems to stop it. Or going to an unavailable station on the boat. Say, I am using the external cam while submerged and I get stuck keys, I punch up the conn using F4, which can't be done while submerged, of course. This seems to hold the motion for some reason. It happens quite often while using the shift or control keys in combination with the arrow keys. I also find it happens more often if there's heavy traffic nearby.

I ran into the External Cam Gone Wild thing (where it just kept spinning and wouldn't stop) and when I mentioned it in a post someone said they'd "reset" the cam on their PC by alt-tabbing out of the game (or hitting the key that brings up the Start menu, which essentially does the same thing) and dropping it to the task bar. When they brought the game back up, the cam was back to normal. Worth a try anyway.

Not just me then! I'll try the F4 thing later as I've tried all the others apart from alt-tabbing put - that led to CTD on old rig so reluctant to try. Thanks again folks.
