To the admins: Sorry, I put this post to the wrong subforum. Only German gamers are concerned (and those, who play the game in German). You can delete this thread, I have reposted it in the German subforum.

Please don't delete!

I play the game with German voice and English text, even though I don't speak German (except for the u-boot German I have learned from SH3 & SH4!). Just love the immersion.

Tilvalter, I have used your previous sound mod and will also use this one. If you had only posted on the German forum, I would never had found it.

Keep up the good work

Thanks

Will this give me german voices on an american install? I'm sick of american voices on my german submarine.

No, this mod is just for the navigator, and is only intended for a German install. If you want German voices, you will have to completely reinstall the game, just be careful. When you install, tell it to continue the install shield in English, then set the second language question to German. That way all dialog boxes will be written in English, but all voices will be German. I know this is really inconvenient, but it is the solution. Good luck.

There's an easier way to do this with JSGME:

- create a German Voices folder in the MODS folder
- copy the Data folder from LngGameData\Voices\German into the MODS\German Voices folder
- enable with JSGME

Then install John Wayne mod

I saw this tip in a thread here a few weeks ago, but I forget where and who posted it.

Don't do that, otherwise all AI models will keep their mouth closed while speaking to you. Just do like SteelViking advises, it's worth it !

Aha - I guess I never paid much attention to that. They usually try to turn away from me whenever they speak anyway...

BTW, I use the Steam installation and I'm not sure SteelVikings method works with that one.

Yeah, if you don't reinstall, and just make a sound file mod for it, I assume the scripts that control mouth movement would have incorrect file references. The time and hard work it would take to make a proper mod would not make any sense when you can just reinstall. I know how much it sucks, I just had to do it cause I damaged some files trying to mod stuff. Haha, now you trust me right?

Edit: Yes arnesw sorry, you may be right about the Steam version, as I don't know much about the complications of getting it through Steam. You should try it anyway, could be worth it.
