Default wolfpack tactic my ***!!!

Attention on Deck

Hello my fellow kaleuns,

I'm sorry that the title has a reference to my Stern tube..
Anyhow, I just ended Total Germany and the guy at homebase is talking about wolfpack tactic and stuff, but I dont find any wolves at my patrol locations enough to use even the Wolf radio fella to send intercept instructions in the event of discovering a convoy..

Also, the Hydrophone Volume knob is NOT WORKING!!!! I use the mouse wheel and turn it all the way clockwise or anti-clockwise and NOTHING..

Also,

@ the topside conning tower, the UZO has a speed dial to its right, which I think should be working for kaleun to use on surface..

BombaClottt!!!!

The volume knob doesn't do anything because the only class functions for the Hydrophone are Rotate and RotateTo. Same as in SH4...

On the other hand, the Hydrophones should've had a band amplifier (or equalizer) and VU Meters. Counting props, separating escorts from convoy background, aspect and speed alterations would've been piss easy and a LOT of fun. Big potential lost there...

It does seem a little silly. They finally manage to get AI subs to be able to fire torps, and then fail to put real Wolfpacks in the game!

Default bummer

I am so happy that they put in DRM, otherwise I would have bought this piece of low quality software. The wolfpacks were the only one feature about this game that made it different from SHIII-GWX for me, the only reason to buy it. But since even these don't function properly... nothing left to say.

AI will usually be artifical idoicy. It's hard to do and it doesn't make for any pretty pictures to help sell the game. And with the condition of AI in most game, even if you do code a good one, no one is going to believe you .

Worst I've even seen is Black and White II, it wasn't bad, it wasn't even there. EA made the game get released with Comp Cities having no AI at all. No building scripts period, damage a building and it's never fixed. They bypassed it by having the city being able to build troops (on a timer) without any economy chain needed.

Well that happens in real life, too, with the politicians we elect for office!
Probably the same problem, too ... complete lack of Intelligence...
