Deck gun target selection

Is there a means of commanding the deck gun crew to fire at a specifically chosen target, or do they just hammer whomever is closest?

Pull out the binoculars (zoom in on the bridge) and hit spacebar when you're looking at the ship you wanna target.

Danke! I don't normally use the deck gun except for cripples or small unarmed ships, but I figured I'd ask and learn before winding up in a situation requiring aiming.
