Default Helping the Immersion along ...

Understanding the timeline of the U-Boat patrols with accuracy is important to me when I play as I like immersion. I like to know what was going on so I hooked up with a database to see historical data on patrols:

http://www.uboat.net/boats/patrols

Simply insert the day and date before you launch the sim!

I used it to check out the first patrols of the war. Type in August 19, 1939, and see how they did.

Had to give it up as it was starting to become a time consuming obsession

Hey Jim, is there a way we can play your music selections outside the sim as in when reading Uboat.net? I am not knowledgeable on the gizmo side of these things ... would be nice though.

PS: Steve, U-39 must have been greedy eh!

Yeah, all you need is a media player (Windows media player will work) and an .ogg codec.

I'd recommend you use the free VLC Media Player:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

It comes with all the codecs already installed

This is slick. I just checked the date prior to launching from SH3 Commander. I don't feel 'alone' out there anymore!! I see 13 patrols out, their location on the map ... fits well with the radio messages and era music.

As many times as I've visited that site, this is a new find. Thanks.
