Default How deep have you gone?

Well, because I'm done for the night I saved on patrol and then decided to test my boat.

I brought her to the Atlantic and dove. Down Down Down.

We reached 631 meters and yet still no hull damage.. Finally a big bang and we hit bottom... -.-' the only reason I sank (at 825 meters) was because I kept scraping my hull in the drive forward.. none of this was due to hull failure from pressure.. WTH?

Share your deep diving stories (to escape or testing)

Cheers

Krauter

Got to 230m in a type VII B, then stuff started spraying water. Decided to assend at that point but didn't take any hull damage.

with navigator points maxed for crush depth, I took her to 270 meters..

when I hit 27(7) the boat hull started to crack and sudden messages appeared. the boat sunk..

If you want to test the boat properly, go at ahead 2/3 and every 10 meters level off for 3 minutes.. open the subsystem tab. keep an eye on the hull damage.. record that depth and repeat every 10 meters deeper until the hull starts to take damage..

N.B. save before this procedure.

Well this was in my VIIB;

What I did was submerge and go all the way to 250; stay there for half an hour and then just proceed at 1/3 and slowly drift to the bottom.

All told it took me (from when I first submerged) three and a half hours to be destroyed. Even then the only damage I took was to my radio and hydrophones from hitting the bottom -.-'

The sub will have a basic figure set in its .zon files e.g 210

All hull damage is then taken into account. 20% damage will reduce max depth.

One of the Navigators passive abilities places a additional % of extra depth that can be achieved but this can be offset when using another ablity that reduces the passive bonus effects.

Overall, Max diving depth in SH5 is much better than SH3 because it is dynamic and changes it's variables during gameplay on more that just hull damage.

You could say SH5 max depth is truely dynamic
