Default Some help needed with 'torpedo.zon' editing

Hi people

I'm trying to tweak the torpedo damage for Lurker's OpMon/Omegu combination, so I just got S3D to work and I made a little folder: ...data/library into which i copied torpedo.zon straight from my game folder (mods are already installed)

so that should mean that i have lurker's files in my own little modfolder

what I'm trying to do is increase the torpedo oomph by 10%

2 questions:

-is it torpedo.zon which governs the german torpedoes in my german campaign game? (just to check)

-there are 11 AmmoDamagaInfo thingies listed, which i'm assuming are the various torpedoes in the game. these have 5 values each.
MinEF, MaxEF, AP, MinRadius, MaxRadius
should I simly increase each value by 0.1 or should I only edit some of these values?

after some searching and attempting logic I decided that torpedo.zon is indeed the one, and I only need to increase the first 2 values: MinEF and MaxEF by 10% for both

testing now to find out

If i made an obvious error please do tell me

nothing huh?

oh well i think i got it about right, pretty much exactly the results I was looking for on my patrol just now,
some settled dead in the water and required a second torpedo or deck gun salvo, some kept going and got away from me and some sank without a fuss, so that takes care of that

one issue: i get a ctd when i try to load my old campaign (saved in port)
does that seem right?

anyway, new career going smoothly so far

might as well close this, unless anyone has a clever comment

Just a note on MinRadius and MaxRadius: unlike the MinEF and MaxEF values, the torpedo will always cause damage out to the MaxRadius value. The only variable is how much damage is applied (which of course is taken from the MinEF and MaxEF values). MinEF and MaxEF determines how many hit points of damage the torpedo will cause to the target (some value in between the Min and Max values).

thanks Luke

i increased the damage by 10% for all torpedoes under Torpedo.zon

now something got screwed:

I enabled my little mod and tried to load a previous career in port: CTD
ok fine
started a new career, no problems. 2 patrols, 60k tonnage on the second patrol, plenty of one-shot kills, i was happy
i tried to reload a save at sea on the third patrol: CTD

tried to load that same career in port before third patrol: CTD
tried to load that career while at sea returning to base after second patrol: CTD
uninstalled the mod and tried to load a previous pre-mod career: loaded just fine but 10 minutes into the game while sailing into the Biscay Bay: CTD

i obviously screwed something up somewhere but I have no clue what I did wrong

anyone please?
(will now try to start a new career without my little mod, just to see if the game will even work at all)

edit did i say lurker? i meant thanks luke, sorry :s

on closer inspection I ended up giving the last torpedo a maxEF of 190.8 or something, would that digit behind the comma be a truly bad idea and a cause for all sorts of trouble?
