Moon in SH5 always makes me sad... It`s usually wrong lighted at night. I`ll try to explain it with pictures (sorry for my "great" Photoshop skills).
At the first picture (made from game screenshot) the "upper side" of moon is lighted. It means, the sun is ABOVE horizon while it`s actually below (it`s night!). ![]() Second picture shows how it has to be: sun is below the horizon. ![]() P.S.: sorry for my poor English... )) |

I saw some sun/moon mods but I don't think they do anything about the position of the sunlit side of the moon actually facing the sun.

Maybe the sun is behind the earth and the shadow on the moon isnt the shadow from the moon. Its the earths shadow. and would mean the moon is infact correct.

I found a youtube link that seem to explain why the notion of earths shadow on moon is wrong:
Edit: Oh this is some tricky stuff. I am positive that the current moon graphics is wrong, because it seems that the angle is not the angle that the moon is orbiting the earth, which looks to be around 5%. So I imagine the current angle of about 45 degrees is about 40 degrees too much. What I can't wrap my mind around, is how the moon phases show throughout a period of 50 years or so. No it's got nothing to do with the earth's shadow as that only occurs during an eclipse. Does the sunlit side of the earth face towards the sun? Of course, so it's the same with the moon. And in the game the moon's sunlit side faces away from the setting sun. I think the moon in the file is positioned upside down and it seems like it could be a simple fix for a modder.
