I felt the need for using a ship's length for AoB and range calculations.
What I found searching these boards was a somewhat older mod (don't remember which one it was, sry!) which did changes to the ship's names in the recognition manual to include their length in feet. Since I'm using RFB2 and they added a lot of new vessels I couldn't just copy this mod on top of RFB so I went on an edited the RFB2 - Names.cfg file to include the lengths as said mod did above manually. I also did a little wiki research on the new warships introduced by RFB2 to include them as well. I cannot guarantee the 100% correctness of those values, though. But time will tell whether they're useful ![]() The mod is JSGME ready, just activate if after RFB. DL Link: http://www.filefront.com/15926255/ship_lengths.zip Credits go to the RFB mod team for their added ships and the original uploader of the stock version of this mod, thanks to both ![]() Regards, i. |

Thank you for this! Right now, I have a bunch of papers on my desk with ship lengths that I obtained from other sources. I use the lengths primarily for determining speed. My wife will appreciate the lessened clutter!
![]() If this works out OK, I would consider contacting the RFB Team and ask them to include it in RFB ![]() |

That just adds realism to it. The recognition manuals used on subs were based on "best available information" too. ![]()

can this be used with RSRD 575 as well? thanks a lot, I was thinking to do exactly the same thing myself
![]() what source did you use? I have made an excel sheet using gutted's great ShipDataFetcher, one value differs from your's: large modern tanker is 492ft in my list and about 630ft in your's. hmmm, all other I checked seem to be the same. although I couldn't find all, is this because I used the RSRD 575 database? |
