Default broken GTS?

I discovered a strange behaving of SH5 after some while i get a black screen and shortly after i got an error table saying something about driver problem - it throws me back to windows 16 color mode and low resolution. I have the same problem when running SH4 + it mess up the ingame textures. I tried to install an older driver but didnt help. Im using Nvidia gts 260. Tried to run other games and there was no problem. Any ideas what could be wrong?? Thanks !

This is nearly the exact thing that happened to me after I went to the 196.21 nvidia drivers after I had the 196.75 ones they pulled from the site due to some reports of fan speed issues.
Those drivers, the 196.21 wreaked havoc with my computer for an entire day untill I managed to get back the 196.75 drivers.
Since then no problems what so ever. And they still dont appear on Nvidia's driver page and the waring about them still appears too.
So I sent them some feedback on this.

I'd roll back to some older ones, just to be on the safe side. I have a sneaking suspicion that it was faulty drivers which fried my last GPU.

Yea, Ive been trying to get the .75 drivers for a while. but am having a hard time finding them.

I myself cant even go inside the sub because my fps`s drop to unplayable, and the game blacks out and comes back on till it crashes...

Default I've a new GTS 250

I installed the new video card just before SH5. When SH5 installed, it told me my system wouldn't support the game due to improper video drivers. SO, I uninstalled SH5, went to nVidia's website, used their auto tool to ascertain I had the latest and greatest, restarted, reinstalled SH5 and, lo and behold! Problem solved. One item - I originally installed SH5 yesterday when the UBI servers were (again) down. This likely didn't help the situation...

Well I was lucky to have had the .75 drivers installed before, cause that ment they were still on my drive in a Nvida folder. So I just went in there and ran the installer, and walla..........all went bak to normal again and SH5 too.

Now as to the fans speed issues, as I read it they said 'some users" had reported issues. That certainly doesnt mean all users. They havent caused any problems for me, and in fact it was the .21 divers that wreaked havoc, and not just with the video. Heck I couldnt even do a system restart, once it failed to load windows saying that a driver was in an "infinete loop" and I couldnt even get my system running at all period.
I have to say it had me worried for a bit, but I finally did get to restart, and as soon as i did i went looking for those newer drivers and found them. And by golly I couldnt click fast enough, I reinstalled them fast as I could before things went haywire again.

I rolled back from 196.75 to 196.21 (GTX295) and SH5 performance went right into the crapper. Went up to 196.34b and it was much better.
