Default Burning Ships

Hey all,

I have run out or fish and ammo and have a nicely burning tanker going with a nice rearward list.... will it ever sink???

Any know if burning ships will sink in time?

Thanks
Kevin

Nope, burning is apparently entirely cosmetic.

I'd love to see a mod that would cause fire to actually contribute to damage, over time.

Id like to see ships that were heavily damaged at least slow down and start to list

Default Conning Tower Trick Still Works

You can tap it with your conning tower. I sunk a destroyer like that.

No offense, but a tanker is MUCH much bigger then a DD. It would most likely kill you instead.

I tried to finish off a tanker by adding my subs weight to the back end, much like i did in SH3, but it doesnt seem to work in SH5. All i was able to do was push the tanker from 5kts up to 12kts lol....then i gave up and just tried to push it into other ships in the convoy lol.

Even better is with the boat in flames the crew continues to preform their duties while roasting like an Xmas Turkey. Apparently no lifeboats aboard or common sense.

not if you have a 2000 hit point conning tower which you probably have

It's even better watching them walk around deck like nothing's wrong, +50 feet under the water.

At least in SH4 if you hit their general location they'd fall over and disappear.

Personally, I like SH5 but the one thing that kills this game for me is the dang damage model.
