Only two threads have been deleted in the last week, those were outright piracy posts. You probably never saw them.

If you are making a thread, please use an exisiting thread. If you make a duplicate, we can move it to the main topic thread.

Be sure to look up at the stickies, there are common topics there.

thanks
Neal

the server swap ate my reply to you but yes your thread was moved to the sh5 reviews and opinions thread along with the rest of the posts in the thread you replied to.

we simply cannot have a seperate thread for every subsim member who wants to express their opinion of the game in a new thread, neals servers would explode.

we dont go around deleting posts here, you have to do something really really really bad for that to happen.

this forum is not like some others that go around deleting things willy nilly or if its something they dont agree with, the only exception to this is issues of piracy which is not allowed to be discussed unless its in a limited general way and any admission to use or promotion of piracy will get you banned here.

BTW, Neal, I love your "Oh noes" icon up there on the notice. Funny!

speaking about lawsuits was obviously forbidden, is it a touchy subject at this independent forum?

Lawsuits is not quite something i would asociate with Subsim, its not a Law firm, merely a Community for Subsimmers.

Subsim is'nt a law firm right, but they ban discussions about law suits. Subsim is'nt a publicer of videos, yet they don't ban discussions about those. I guess it's in the rulebook and we should talk about suits in a less visited, relevant forum.

Regarding law suits, this is interesting:

first off a thread promoting lawsuits or boycots makes bad relations between subsim and game makers so its a simple logic just like not telling your wife she is fat. the merrit or truth involved in weather she really is fat or not is not the point, you will still sleep on the couch for a month if you start that conversation.

if we allow this website to be seen as a place where protests of any sort are made against game companies then the close relationship subsim enjoys with them along with any inside or exclusive information we get will be lost.

I understand but how heavily is that enforced?

Ubisoft has not really been forthcoming in relations here regarding SH:5, from my point of view - otherwise they could have warned us of the bugs and given Neal a real chance to review the game in due time.

Even if your wife's obesity is to the point where it may endanger her health and possibly her life?

I understand the need to not be offensive to a game maker...but is it not in the long term interest of the game maker to get "honest" feedback...even if it stings in the short term?

Yes, and people give their opinion of the game all the time. Even Neal has said what he doesn't like about it, along with what he does.

However, open discussions of hacks, cracks, boycotts and lawsuits hardly qualify as "honest feedback".

Lawsuits bonanza is a mongrel dog, a blight on of american civil culture and a curse which the rest of the world - luckily - is not forced to endure in such heavy measures. After you read about the McDonals hot coffee lawsuit, you pretty much lose all respect for them permanently. On the internets, discussion about lawsuits increases the retardation levels of any discussion thread with about 20 points, bit like pulling out the Hitler-card. Once you start mentioning lawsuit, it just gets really bad and downhill from then on.

However, videogames are a blessing. Sub sims even more so! I am glad that Subsim.com is kept free of them - lawsuits that is, not videogames. Oh noes, something is wrong. Lets sue - or something.

ok, i think there is no point to continue this.

this site is run by neal and it is run according to neal's rules.

we live within the rules and guidlines that he sets if we want to post here, its as simple as that.

whatever is the the letter of the law in this contry or that contry and if you find some loophole or technicality you think exists in those laws has no bearing on the rules of this website.

basic free speech rights dont apply here even thou this site has the least restrictive rules, regulations, and restrictions on its members and that freedom is what makes this place so great.

with all due respect to your opinions, your opinion of how neal should run his website is not important, only neal's opinion is what counts.

thank you
