Default New Patch??

Im not sure if this has been asked before, but is there going to be a new patch to this game?. I know there has already been one when it first came out and some modders have been adding or fixing stuff. But Im sure the Devs are not going to just let them fix the game because it sounds like there are quite a few serious issues.

I have bought the game and I haven't even installed it because of the scare stories of people losing there save games due to being always online and the general bugs in the game.

Expect a patch in 2 or 4 weeks.

Oh comeon guys. I bet the devs are working hard to fix the most imported stuff in sh-5. I dont doubt the dedication of some of the devs. I,m sure they want us to have a stable sh-5 so we can mod it into even a better game. Yes some bugs i know about should really be fixed by the devs and i,m sure they are working on it.

What is your #1 game-necessary item to patch?

List just the one thing you think the game needs more than anything else. Preferably something that you think is beyond a mod. If someone has already posted your #1 concern, then post it again so we can see if there are some things everyone agrees is most important.

Me: The game needs to have the time compression-enemy threat fine tuned. Too many times I have been moving along on the map at 512x crossing the sea when Blam!--SHRIEEK!-Boom! I ran into an enemy patrol and they fired 40 shells into me before the game went back to 1x.

Don't you know that this has become standered in the PC gaming market? IE Pump out a game as fast as possiable don't bother fixing bugs because your only after the initial sales.. If the game has a big modding community you can count on them to do all the work of fixing the game for you. If it doesn't well you got your money and can move onto something else.

That is why more and more people are deciding on not buying games right when they are released and also why the PC gameing industry is hurting. The companies like to claim it is because of piracy etc but in reality people are sick and tired of paying for lemons.

God i wish there was a lemon law for software like there is for Cars. As it is in most places once you buy software you can't take it back even if you wanted to. Just another reason why people are going the alternative route.

Which brings me to mention what I see as something they must patch: The morale system. Now, I don't know if this really works this way but it seems like when you have no morale, the crew performs very, very lousy and can't see ships that are right in front of you and if they carried that over into the TC calculation then maybe that's what causing the 40 shell salutation out at sea.

Well I have not even installed it yet!. lol. I will eventually. But I hate games where suddenly you get so far and then suddenly it crashes, Save games get lost. etc. I was going to install it, but then all these reports of players on this forum were saying that these things happened. I am playing Dragonage: Origins at the moment and so that has me occupied. Now that is a game that seems pretty stable and nice to play. I don't want all these fustrations of playing a broken game or am I over reacting about SH5?.

#1 problem for me is Mouse Invert Y axis!

Can't tell you how painful it is to move around the damn boat and ladders when I'm having to think the opposite to look up/down of every other first person view setting in every other game since Quake...

Please provide an option for this devs, or tell me how I can tweak the config myself. The funny thing is the control of the cannon is the inverted Y axis, so the code is in there just not available for the human movement.

If I may add to the discussion, number 1 for me would be the damage modeling, I'm still convinced it ain't working right. On par with that is the AI but I think it can be modded more easily.

I don't have it yet, but from what I've read, the 1st and most important thing is a performance-improvement.

If anything can make allot of lesser (but still important) issues more bearable, than it's a good and stable performance.
Makes any further progress easier.

And due to the nature of this release, that goes for both engine- and DRM-performance.
