Default Back in the saddle

TMO 19 100 realism(left camera on for this patrol)

I have been busy and have not had a chance to play SH 4 in about two weeks, what little game time I had has been spent rewriting the convoy, merchant, tf layers in TMO 1.9 to suit history a little more.Off tomorrow so figured id stay up a little late and get some time in.Anyway, started a career out of Brisbane in January 1943 with a Gato class, USS Grouper.Headed for Palau-Wewak shipping lanes(added traffic there, was missing there) After 4 days in area, a convoy came on radar.After a dash ahead and waiting out a thunderstorm and a zig by the convoy, ready to attack around noon(12 hours after initial contact) Seas are rough so helped me get close without escorts hearing me.Hakusika Maru and Nagara Maru at 1200 and 1800 yards...fired 3 each set for 15 feet.Four prematurely exploded, but two hit...one hit each target.Went to ahead flank and right full rudder to bring stern tubes around.The Hakusika is slowing down, mustve knocked engines out.The Nagara has a hole in the side and is on fire but under own power.Fire two stern tubes at Hakusika Maru, just 700 yards away now.Bot prematurely explode.Now an aux subchaser is bearing down on me, pinging.Fire two more fish at Hakusika and order hard dive as subchaser closes in.As I pass 100 feet, hear one fish premature and one hit, but did not hit Hakusika, missed(ship had slowed down too much for this one) but it barrelled on and hit the Nagara Maru, setting her on fire.As I passed 150 feet, 6 depth charges fell, most were close but no damage.Went on down to 300 and leveled off at 1 knot, silent running.Avoiding 20 more depth charges from two different escorts.

After 5 hours, popped back up to scope depth, the Hakusika Maru is still there, dead in water.After another hour moving into position and reloading tubes.Fired 3 stern tubes, one went erratic and took a hard jog to the port, other prematurely exploded but the third hit in the forward cargo hold, causing a massive explosion and fireball, ship quickly sank.Oil fire and debris everywhere, several bodies.Surfaced after dark and charge batteries, saved game so could go to bed.


Not the best battle ive had but was fun, i missed it
