Default Single core is a no go?

I have a single core 2.0ghz cpu but the rest of my specs are fine, it looks like single cores cause some serious graphical issues with this game.
Myself and a number of others on the other forum have the same symptoms with different hardware , nvidia , ati etc. The only thing in common is the single core.
All effects like explosions , splashes and smoke run at 1fps while the rest of the game runs at 25 fps at the same time.
The game must be coded to distribute the work over 2 cores and when only one is used it either cant keep up or it just isnt set up to work with only one core.

I have bought a dual core to upgrade and will keep this thread updated.

Dual core was stated as a minimum requirement for the game in the specs here although I have seen a post somewhere where developer Maeraen_M did manage to run the game with some success on an Athlon 3200+.

Guess ill have to keep my fingers crossed when i get SH5 on the 12 march (not released in New Zealand yet). Otherwise ill have to build a new PC, as 939 socket cpu's are hard to find now.

Sorry to hear that this title joins the push to try to force people to run on super computers. Most of the world is not dual cored nor will it be. Too bad, they could have done some work and made the effects work fine on normal computers. Ah well. Have fun.
