Well i saw some planes "I need" in SH3. For example the BV138 or the Ju 290.
I also saw a Schleswig Holstein who should be sailing in SH3.
But for diferent reasons we do not need a SH5 like that what is comming in a few weeks.

let me see how many bugs were in sh4.. 3km land, gui unmoddable, dds shoot ducks instead of me, flags that are bigger than the tower on carrier, ugly sea, ugly crewmen, with me ugly, too much ugliness etc.
so far from sh5 I just notticed graphics are uber high, but other stuff remains hidden. or so I saw.. someone well notticed no concurention in uboots sim is out there to ubisoft, so I am guessing "gamebox edition" will be out.. if they are not cruel, s3d will still work on sh5 and then sh3 will get some new graphics..

I totally agree. Sh4 had better graphics but I couldn't play it very long and settled into SH3. Its very possile SH5 will be like this as well. When it comes to gameplay SH3 may simply be the best in the series. And so, the mods will continue. With the right mod combination you can get SH3 looking pretty good now, not to mention all the mods that bring the sim closer to realistic in a million different small ways.

IMO the water in SH3 is much better, the only thing that I liked was the slight transparency,

but the jello look is awful and the sea in the morning/evening is almost black - yuck!

If the engine in SH5 has less limitations than SH3 then I'm gunning for it. Sorry to be the black sheep. SH3 has grown so much with modding that it's almost the best it can be. Unfortunately the graphics are getting dated, the load times are atrocious, the damage system was designed poorly, crew looks like robots, etc.

So in other words, SH3 won't allow me to get a Japanese I-400 sub that can launch scouts for example. We can't get a destroyer and launch depth charges or intelligent AI subs for example. We can't use the cool features that I did like from SH4 like special abilities, ships and plane control, etc.

I doubt SHV will bring all of this but a man can dream.
