Instead of spoiling the MTW2 thread with too much roman stuff I thought to make a new one to post screenshots and reports of our campaigns if people still play them (doesnt matter which Title of Total war with any mod):
Just to sum up how far I got in my Julii Campaign: My start was spearheaded to take over a Village called ''Segesta'' easy, took it with weak resistance. Soon I found out that 2 rebel armies where settled inside my provinces taking down my trade routs and quality of living. Attacked them both my with my Main army with the faction leader as general. I beat both with little losses. rebels are dogs I say...have to scare them away. anyway...now the usual thing of the senate jumps in Take the town of Narbo Martius, this is located in southern france, this means I have to leap jump over 3 bloody Gaul provinces! are they mad! yep, anyway I ignore this order as I have economy that isnt going well, going into the red here ![]() Solution! higher taxes and wage war gainst the gauls and take their 2 provinces in northern italy : Patavio and Mediolanio with a son of the Faction leader old enough to join the army he becomes general with under his command 480 Hastati soldiers. His father who already besieged Patavio is under heavy attack of lose armies in the province, the first attack I won easy, they fled but they came back for round 2 and this time things went really bad...its starts ok till fleeing gaulish men killed my Faction leader ![]() Anyhow...a big loss for the Julii ![]() Considering that it couldnt be any worse at the moment, I found that the economy start to build up a bit...can recruit men again. anyway its time for the Son to take the leadership and immediatly I attacked the village Mediolanio. the spy succesfully opened the gates for me so I dropped the rams and entered the village I outnumbered the gaulish with 530 men versus 340 men: ''Knocking on Gaulish doors'' ![]() Ha, a good day to smash gaulish people. No... not really, it was a freaking mess! The Death faction leader son throat got gutted by the enemy general cavalery, 2 units flee and I just could manage to win the battle and take over the Village....and I was furious...and when I looked at the victory screen I saw the village was not happy, not happy at all.....they where about to start a riot or rebellion ![]() *hack slash and some wood and nail work in the form of a cross* They gave me a big smile and welcomed Rome and its men with grave of the gods, and promised to be loyal to Rome only. to be continued. Okie then. Well, I'm still yet to reinstall CAE to my MTWII. Instead, I stick with the Road To Jerusalem for awhile as I have a campaign going on as the Holy Roman Empire. This time, I decided to break all my traditions and try the speedy approach. Took 2 rebel cities in the first 6 turns, all my cities are very well defended and I'm thinking of starting a war with Denmark (They are real twats atleast in the stock game, so better take them out ASAP). Oh and economy is blooming too.

Those Danes are really annoying in the early parts of the game, their infantery is ace.

![]() ![]() Hear me, citizens of Rome, the foul gaulish is yet again attacking the city of Mediolanio just after a season! the city is under heavy siege lets hope the captain will hold! Hold strong, there wont be 1 gaulish barbaric soldier who ever will lay a hand on this brave captain! this was Julii News for this afternoon, tune in tommorow for more! ... Alright now back to the real thing... thing is I get sieged just after taking this darn city of Mediolanio, defending is my speciality I had only the gaulish heavy cavalery to worry about. in the start it was going like the book: ![]() but luck wasnt on my side, as soon the generals heavy cavalery came inside my men where pushed backwards to make more room for gaulish troops and they cut the head of my Captain, and lost the village. I really start to get pissed of by these Gaulish.... but right after the Turn I had the thing I needed to take the village back a fresh army! with 1 General(gold star) and a Son(silver star) who came of age to become a general. no matter what Mediolanio will be MIIIIIINE! ![]() ![]() ![]() and I took it, I killed the general of the gauls. lost about 150 men in this fight but they lost all their ~400 men! ![]() ![]() HunterICX Senates most hated ![]()

As much as M2TW was good, RTW was better, though i never did manage to win as either the Seleucid Empire or the WRE (In BI)

On the other news. DANG, I love night battles fought in forest! Looks so nice to watch it all from high above. All those torches flicker behind the trees as the armies march forward and all of a sudden you see flaming arrows fly above the treetops. Just beautiful. ![]() ![]() |

I always get my generals involved in the fighting rather than sit back and watch. Gets them more experience and stars to be able to attempt night attacks.
If you have a city that has the plague, recruit a spy then send him with the plague into your enemies city......... ![]() |

I believe Macedonia gets a scripted plague about 10 turns into the game, so if you play as them (think you need to mod the game tho), it's pretty easy to infect your enemies

In MII:TW, the plauge WILL get to you eventually, when the great mortality strikes Europe, you'll know what I mean...
"Bring out yer dead!" ![]() BTW, did you know that there is a minor Monty Python reference in Rome: Total War? ![]() Oh and on topic.... I've been playing a short campaign as England in MII:TW. Here is a short summary: Started by smashing the Scots out of my island, didn't want the buggers to harrass me later on. When I was about to take the province that exists in the area that we nowadays calls "Wales", I noticed that it'd been taken by (and you can guess how surprised I was about that) Portugal! I didn't want to start a fight with Pope Gregory (he was rather pissed off when I smashed Scotland) so I didn't bother about them. I took the rest of the islands, and then went on to take some land in inland Europe. It didn't take long before Portugal tried to take York from me. I threw them away, and then took Wales from them, for good measures. Then we were at war, which lasted until 1402 or something like that. It wasn't much conquest really, mostly it was their fleets harrasing my ports, and then they tried to take back Wales over and over again...always ending up with a defeat and an army less. I managed to stay out of global war for about 70 years. Then France attacked Caen, but I chased them off like nothing. For good measures, I took Paris from them. Then the usual happened: "Don't kill Catholics or I'll do this and that", yadayadayada, the war raged on for 200 years, with many things going on around that honestly was more interesting than this war. I happened to get into war against the Holy Roman Empire, Milan, Denmark and Poland. The only one that I took seriously was the one against Denmark, 'cause really, those buggers can ruin any empire in a snatch. After a long and careful conquest, I wiped them out when taking over Stettin. I then owned the major ports in the Baltic sea. Ka-ching! The Holy Roman Empire attacked Antwerp, I took Metz, then nothing happened for a very long time. Poland blocked the port of Stettin, but that was it. Nothing else. Milan tried to take Paris from me. Fat chance mate, I chased them off myself (killed 200 of 'em, zero losses for me). After some fighting with the pope(s) and some random stuff to take care of, I managed to take Genoa, Milan from the Milanese, and Florence and Bologna from the HRE. That gave me a good position to the Med. Sea. Most of my provinces are cities, so my bank account is bigger than my massgrave of Assassins. So eventually I managed to make peace with the HRE, Milan, Portugal and Poland. At the present time, I just try to sort out any problems in my huge kingdom, and reinforce the borders. I'm ally with Spain, the Mongols (I stay out of the Middle East, best way to avoid trouble), also giving the Papal States some 10000 gold or so from time to time to keep the big guy happy. So at the present time, things looks pretty good for me! ![]()

Me and a friend are planning to copy the "Ptolemy Kings of Egypt" game that someone did where every time their faction leader died, the player swapped places with his partner and played the game until the next leader died. Should be an interesting idea and keep things from getting boring
