How to turn Vsync on ?

Hi there.

When i move my camera around the lines will move up and down the screen - vsync is off. Its so goddamn annoying, even so that it takes the joy of playing it away from me.

I already put Vsync on on ATI control panel but it doesn't seem to work. So if anyone knows solution for my problem - many thanks!

Turn Vsync on in the options panel of SH3. You must then restart the game for it to have an effect.

Yea, I get quite a bit of tearing no matter what I do. It actually gets worse with vsync enabled in SH3 or the vid card. I figure SH3 uses some sort of cheap method for the sync which doesn't work well at non LCD refresh rates.

Some video cards have the option to turn on Vsync (nVidea with nHancer for example). Perhaps you have to have both set the Vsync.
I have both set to Vsync on my computer and have not experienced any problems.

I have a 9800GTX+ with nHancer and have tried all possible combinations. Leaving both off provides the best picture. It would appear that Sh3's internal sync option is a software simulated vsync rather than hardware/driver controlled. Enabling both thus causes a normal wait for sync and then the software also waits. That's what it appears to be anyway.

Could be the refresh rate I run. I use 75-85hz on my CRT (LCD's just don't cut it for me yet).

Hope the above information is useful to someone some day.

CMDR, thanks for the info. I have been using Windows7 (with a 9800 card) for only a couple of weeks. I haven't noticed any picture quality problems with Vsync on and a refresh rate of 59 on a LCD monitor, but I haven't really used it enough to tell. I followed Rubini's suggested settings. I finally got nHancer to work. It wouldn't work with Vista on my machine, but it does fine with windows7.
I have been playing around with the settings.
