Default Crysis problems

I have had Crysis for some time now but don't play it because I have some strange problems, heres a couple:
1) Quite often the game goes into or runs in slow motion, have to reload to fix.
2) If I hit space to miss video the game gets stuck at that spot, my team mate just stays at that point!
BTW I have patched to version 1.2 but lower right of screen shows 1.1
Any help appreciated.

Can't think of anything other than a reïnstall, maybe DL patches again. Perhaps something got corrupted along the way.

Do you know if the number at the lower right on the screen is supposed to show 1.2? Might give it a reinstall anyway!

Ehr, might indicate something went wrong with patching, which is why re-downloading those might be a good idea. A patch could be corrupt after DL, but I think normally the installer checks the integrity. Another thing could be that you tried applying a US or Europe patch to a different version; some games have different patches depending on the region the game was released in, but again the installer should pick up on that.

Not sure if this applies to Crysis though, nor am I familiar with the issues you're reporting, so it's a stab in the dark really.

Getting the patches again and trying to patch is probably faster than reïnstall, so you could try that first.

Good point. What are you running on, and what graphics-driver version are you using?

*There's a possible fix for the slowdowns; apparently it's caused by excessive accesing of the page-file, which would seem to indicate it's running out of RAM (last 2 posts): http://www.techsupportforum.com/gami...ns-crysis.html
Weird since I ran it on 2GB without issues, but that was on XP (I'm guessing you have Vista).

Are you running in DX10? Might try DX9 mode.

System is OK:
Quote:
AMD Dual core PhenomII Deneb 3.7ghz
4gb Kingston ram NB 2020mhz DRAM 538mhz x 2 (1076)
ATI HIS Turbo HD4850 512mb
Win XP with DX9
This slow motion only seems to happen with a certain key combo that I may hit by mistake every now and then.
I just totally uninstalled Crysis cleaned up any trace of it then reinstalled, before running it I applied the 1.2 patch (380mb). All seemed to go ok, then fired it up for the first time, this is the screen:

As you can see at the lower right it is still version 1.1!

Mine reads 1.1.1.6156.

That's with the 1.2.1 patch installed as well. Guess it's at least patched correctly.

I don't know, like I said this is an unfamiliar issue to me. Give it a spin, see if the slowdowns are gone. That thread I linked to earlier might help.

* running out of VRAM? Turn down graphics, particularly texture details.

** regular crap: latest driver version, latest DX9 version, perhaps SP3 for XP.

*** or maybe an older driver. A driver that was around when Crysis was released may have been used for actual testing of the game, making it less likely to intefere with it. Really a long shot, that one.
