Default Das Boot moment, possible mod idea...

I am ingame right now, just leaving Lorent... I watch in realtime with binoculars as several subs go by, some being docked and some returning from patrol (I like watching to see the emergence of new subs as the war progresses). The crews are posted on the guns an no one is on watch and the boats float by without flinching (gotta love that Third Reich discipline, eh?), which brings me to my question. How hard would it be to script a few guys on watch, waving there hands at the passing "friendlies" and maybe flashing signals to the players passing uboat in morse code. I think it would add just a bit more depth to SH3 if there were actual responses from the boats as they pass so it would look a bit more like a Das Boot moment.

I think that it would be difficult if not impossible to simulate hands waving realistically. All the reactions that the "men" do in GWX were simulated in SH3 stock. If i remember right, someone mentioned that the game engine itself is built that way that the "world" (immobile objects, clouds, guns, men) cant be altered in any way. And i dont think that waving hands can be scripted as ships or planes.

Would it be possible to use the models that were used for the lifeboat mod? The guys waving their hands overhead might work here.

I'm not a modder, so perhaps I don't know, but I know that the 'people' can be moved. How else dod the GWX team put a crew on the other U-Boats. (they weren't their in the stock game). But, the hole signaling thing, I kinda that ot would be possible to redress the guys waving at the dock (I know this is possible, due to the Thomsen mod that added Thomsen in the dock crowd to send you off), and put them on the con of some u-boats. Just a thought though.
