And am wondering what some of these new abbreviations and mods are:

-RA
-Alfa Tau
-DWX

-Any other major mods since I was playing DW last (I used to run LWAMI)

Ra(reinforce alert) is now called DWX(to make it equivalent namesake with SH3's GWX I suppose) you must have this mod in my opinion.
Don't forget to download the patch as well

Alfa Tau is Italian mod for DW. DWX is howeevr the biggest and the newest mod right now. I suggest you try it. You'' love it. Make sure you read the weapon documentation. They've changed so many things on most of the weapons.
