Default Okay okay fun's over !

Quote:
For 15 years, the Deck family has been scaring neighbors and trick-or-treaters at their annual haunted house. But this year, the boogey man turned out to be code enforcement. "When I came home from work, they posted a No Entry sign over my sign, that no one's allowed to use it," said homeowner Paul Deck.
Sigh

This is outrageous, if people want to open a flammable maze to the public they should be allowed to open their flammable maze.

Even Disney World cant make such a claim.

So Mr Deck didn't say it was a maze and the reason they were having problems with the building code was because it was made of flammable plastic.

So when is the next time you intend taking your kids to a building that has no regulations at all.

i dont know? does a tree house count?

i say throw in a couple of clearly marked fire exits... some strategically placed fire extinguishers and a bunch of smoke detectors... and they should be good to go.

even as someone who has had a house fire before... i can say - they are taking this haunted house thing a little too seriously.

of course im old school... you know back when "car seats" were your mothers arm flying out in front of you during hard breaking... or when 90% of the quickie haunted houses that were build in 2 days by high school and college students didnt meet most codes.

Is it open to the public? Different rules, just the same as there are different rules if you have a house that you live in or a house that you rent to someone else to live in.

Another bureaucratic bull**** event. I bet he needs a license to do it.

He has to fatten his local leaders wallet for them to overlook this.

The problem was parts of it that were suspectable to fire and while the department went crazy on this one. Some changes do need to be made.

When you live in a litigious society it is par for the course.
If something did happen then there is no way this individuals insurance or assets would cover any payments , that means the local authority is liable as it is their job to ensure that all property in their area complies with all ordinances.
