Default U100 RIP

U100 (VIIB) sunk in The Bay Of Biscay (BF64) less than 24 hours after leaving St. Nazaire.
25.feb.43 01.00
"Detecting radar signals, sir".
A L A R M ! ! ! Crash Dive.
Flooding. Both electric motors destroyed.
Attack Two: Lights out. (Don't like planes, and they obviousely don't like me).

History:

17 patrols 11.AUG.40 til 25.FEB.43 296.637 GRT

SH3 is a pretty accurate simulator. Unfortunately, it does a great job of simulating the hell of late 43-early 45 that the U-boats had to endure.

Life sucks after 43

Sorry for the loss of your boat and crew. I am sure they fought like lions.

They fought to the last second. Damn good crew.
It certainly was a realistic ending.

On the bright side, I don't think we knew what hit us on their second attack.
Nobody had to deal with being trapped in a flooding compartment.
That's one terrifying immage.

What a bummer...:-(..........

reminds me of Iron Coffins. i'm reading Attack and Sink by Bernard Edwards about the attack on SC42. reading about merchants sinking with all the crew is horrifying enough and under trained u-boat crews going out to war and panicking then dying....

looking forward to Black May next by Michael Gannon, another cheery read.
