recently started using TMO, but im too used to the stock names.
BLAH BLAH MARU means absolutely nothing to me and im too stubborn to retrain my brain. just wondering if i can simply remove some files from the TMO folders, or do i have to go in by hand and edit the files so i dont break other TMO changes? |

I was the same when i first started with TMO, wanted the stock ships back(even though the devs bucked history assinging the maru names) it is much more authentic for ships to be listed as So and So Maru, thats how they were listed in the real ID books.Anyway, try and play with it a while before you change it, much easier once you play and learn them, plus your crew will ID the ship for you...lock on to target via scope or TBT and find the button on the toolbar that says "ID target".
If you still want to change them, I'm not sure how exactly. |

uhh no.. it's much easier to call a composite a composite.. and a split freighter a split freighter. i can look at a ship, and say, ok thats a medium composite from its features.. and tell if it's old or modern. |

i would think it would take a lot to change it back but i could be wrong
i never changed ship names but off-hand i think you need to change the roster, cfg, and campaign files as well as the ship files themselves |

An easy fix is to add RSRDC.
