Now, that guy is awesome. I've had similar thoughts myself, just not the motivation and/or tools to do it. Very inspiring. If this guy can make a workable sub out of barrels in China, why can't I do something similar here in Florida?

Food for thought...I was thinking about making an RC sub. Then again, if I'm going to invest time and money, why not go all out?

That water didn't look very clean. And it looked like it could swamp the sub at any second!!

Because in florida they have health and safety and actually care that their citizens may hurt themselves in such an endeavour. Not only don't the chinese care a toss they'll probably promote such things to get rid of people.

Personally I wouldn't go near that sub with a barge pole, much as I'm reluctant to go near anything made in China.

True, true. Obviously I'd want to be able to get out of it instantly, wouldn't take it deeper than I can safely swim to the surface from, and get it registered and certified, whatever needs to happen. Maybe it would be smarter to start with a wet sub, which would work great with the SCUBA gear I already have.

Aye, something that is unenclosed so if anything goes wrong, you can just swim out of. Preferably also a two person sub so if something goes wrong, there's someone else there to help you out.

HECK!!! I'm proud of the little guy!

He decided he wanted a submarine... and completed what he set out to do.

Hell of a thing... and I'm betting a dollar it will get him the attention and finances needed to build a better... more stronger sub in days to come.

I gotta say that when I saw the first article on this guy a year ago... I didn't think he had a chance in hell.

Decide what you want out of life... and make it happen!

Thanks for posting it Paddy!
