The game doe's a good job at the sub specs as far as depths, but don't trust true specs. Things differ from stock to the different mods, so what may work on one, doesn't another.

Depending on what you play, test the boats you plan to use. Usually you can go another 100ft below the redline, often much more. Once you get deep do it slowing in increments of 10 ft, run it for awhile using TC, then repeat. Eventually you find the crush depths. Just know that even few percentage damage points can reduce that drastically.

most boats go 21 to 19 knots except for the pre war S boats...

some of the fleet boats have 4 tubes... but I know for sure that the gato and balao class have 6...

CaptainMattJ,

If I recall correctly, KLCarroll over on the UBI forum has a listing of the American Submarine Specs. I believe that it is stickied at the top of the first page. So might check there.

Try looking at the following link:

I found a copy of this book for cheap:

http://www.amazon.com/Illustrated-Di...2426962&sr=1-1

It'll tell you pretty much what you want to know about any class you can think of. Good to read while your computer loads up your modded game.

I also features a unique, electricity-free interface that operates independently of batteries or power cables. Further, it doesn't tax your system resources, so you can multitask without adversely affecting your load time. It's also transportable...don't want to wait in front of your machine while it loads the entire Pacific? Head out to the porch, read up, and enjoy a cold beverage.

Okay, here's the simple version:

Cachelot class: Diesel powered, 17 knots, 250 ft test depth, 4 tubes forward, 2 tubes aft.

Porpoise class: Diesel-Electric (the diesels drive generators which drive the propellors), 19 knots, 250 ft, 4 tubes forward, 2 tubes aft.

Salmon class: Diesel-Electric, 20-21 knots, 250 ft, 4 tubes forward, 4 tubes aft.

Sargo class: Slightly longer and heavier version of Salmon.

Tambor class: Diesel-Electric, 20 knots, 250 ft, 6 tubes forward, 4 tubes aft.

Gato class: Diesel-Electric, 21 knots, 300 ft, larger and heavier than Tambor, same armament.

Balao class: Diesel-Electric, 20 knots, 400 ft (increased pressure hull thickness meant increased test depth but heavier boat, so slower speed).
