Anyone come across any big ocean liners with any regularity? If so, where and when?

1942: I almost got run over by one off Cape Hateras (sp?).
You don't find them. They have to stumble on you . . . .at about 30 knots.

The only time i saw one was around 1941 south of Bristol channel enterance.Actualy he ws far off ( around 7-8km) and he ws VERY fast it ws no way i could get any near even for gun attack.
SO you need a LOT of luck to get 1 bagged somehow, but even then im not shure will 4 eels do the trick...
If you recall that even big T3 can take 3 hits sometimes and just limp off then 40000 tons liner can probably take all 4 of your torpedoes and just keep smiling at you.It can slow him down however and perhaps it can give you chance for reload.
BTW what will happen to your renown if you sink liner?Same as hospital ship?

Depends, if you're using GWX, you could try the med south of Sardinia say about 50km I've run into quite a few there, Sometimes 2 sailing in convoy.

one of my test-kaleuns at some point bagged 4 large liners in 3 patrols....

just make sure they don't get bombed by planes trying to steel your credit

Saw one as part of a large troop convoy (manoevring with a large number of troop 'sports so fairly slow) heading NNE about 1 grid square west of the centre of Ireland in '41.

She didn't make it home.
