I'm playing a career on v1.4 and RSRD at 46% realism. Its Feb. 1943, and I have yet to be depth charged. Its striking me as very strange. One escort or two not DCing me, that's fine maybe I was able to sneak under the thermal and get away. But I'm really not that good. So to test, I decided to attempt to infiltrate Tokyo harbor. I sailed up, and was detected by a destroyer. Pinging away, he knew exactly where I was, but when he would make attack runs, he attempted to ram me, but dropped no DC's. I find this very odd. I've been engaged when on the surface, but beneath it, not so much as a single DC.
I can't believe the thermal layer has THAT much effect on stealth. Is this as weird as I think it is? |

The stock DDs are pretty lame. Doesn't take much to beat them. RSRD doesn't change the DDs.
Try loading up TMO and you will be sent to Davy Jone's Locker with regularity till you get good at evading them. I know I was. ![]() ![]() Magic
