Default A Q on Mods

I have just installed the game, and Jones's mod enabler, and was looking at the list of available mods.
I noticed that some are labelled for V1.4, 1.3 ect, I have 1.5 are these earlier mods compatible with 1.5 ?

Thanks.

Usually they are but it depends on the mod. What's the list of mods you're trying to load?

that thread list has gotten old and there are many mods out now that arent on the list but its still a great resource and many of the old mods still work great with v1.5

Ah, those a little tweaks which should be pretty OK regardless of version. If you're applying these on the stock game you should be fine while combining them with RFB/TMO would be more complicated or even unnecessary as these mods are sometimes rolled into the mega mods.

Small radar contacts is just a texture replace. OK.

Fewer radio contacts is a config edit of some campaign files if I recall correctly. It might not be OK but it should be very easy to open up the mod, see what it changed, and then copy&edit these values into a copy of the stock file to make your own easy mod to enable with JSGME.

MultiSH4 should be OK unless filemanager.dll was patched but I doubt it was.

Periscopes should be OK.

Dark recog manual should be OK, I think it's just the background texture.

Pampanito UI skin should be OK.

JP Dimension fix probably adjusts things that are patch related but a 1.5 version of the mod should be an improvement and compatible with 1.4.

Radio Mod is gunna be OK.

Non-scrolling map changes the UI cfg and might be weird between 1.4/1.5 but again running an updated one in 1.4 will probably work.

Mini-chrom might conflict with some of the other mods on this page, not sure. Check JSGME's conflict messages to see if two mods are editing one file. If so you'll have to manually merge the values, possibly as a 3rd mod on top of the two that conflict that contains only the custom value-merged file(s).

And the rest are similar. Try them one or two at a time in a single mission before you get a campaign underway if you have any problems loading all you want. If you load up all of them and have a problem diagnosis is nearly impossible until you start over mod by mod.

For radio files this thread ( http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=119668 ) is the one you want to reference. The CBS broadcasts and so much more are available there. Sadly the files are not accessible at this particular moment but that thread is ground zero for all of your gramophone/radio needs.

Few if any mods mess with the radio.ini but when you're getting more than 1 radio station into the game (other than Washington 22.0), you'll have to craft your own radio.ini which is nothing to be afraid of.

The other one I was referring too was Captain Midnights, I just check and that's still unavailable too.

It's included in Fred's ... and his version is without the game-busting bug.
