Hi all just returned from my most succesful partol to date 5 merchies totaling just under 32,000 tons (yeah amatur I know!) and had some nice targets on the way back to port but was out of fish by then.
Because its early war and the problems with the mark 14's I have been firing 3 to 4 fish at each target. Is this overkill do you think? Whats the best number to fire at targets, I'm guessig 2 for smaller ships, 3 for mediums etc. Any help or advice from the community would be appriciated ![]() Thanks Steve |

By the way 32K tons is not bad at all. You realize that in 'real life' some skippers dident make this kind of tonnage in an entire career.

It drives us mental. What it must have been like for all those guys with high risk of death, discomfort, no dames, and all those duds.

How often did a submarine leave port without a full combat load of torpedoes? Recently I played my 3rd war patrol in a Gato class with 60% of so load plus a few purchased MK10s. This was in mid to late '42 which is when they had serious torpedo shortages.
