There is a file that you can edit to make your renown the amount you want.Someone will tell you since i am not sure witch file it is.
But the idea of renown is that you arent just the next uboot commander, you have some kind of rep so you can pull some strings to get your boat to get the first batch of new "stuff" ![]()

Here's where my .cfg file is located (probably the same place as yours):
C:\Documents and settings\(your user profile)\my documents\SH3\data\cfg\careers\(career name)\patrols_0.cfg. Open the patrols_0.cfg in notepad, and scroll to the bottom. There you will see a line called DeltaRenown. Change the number behind it to what you like, IE 999999.00. Then save and exit. That'll give you 999999 renown. ![]()

There is another way. If you want to use renown to tract your progress and to get promoted for successful patrols, you can edit the basic config file to remove renown from upgrades. (Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/cfg/basic.cfg) In this way, also, you will have access to the upgrades in new careers without having to edit the career files.
NYGM mod does something very cool. It gives the upgrades to every sub as soon as they become available but with a 3 month delay to simulate production and distribution of the item. The new upgrades are available at the end of a patrol, not in mid-patrol.

1: Back up the file; if you screw up, just restore the old file and no harm done.
2: In notepad open the file and every time you see renown listed for an upgrade, type "0", save the file. Alternately, copy the file to desktop, make all the changes and then make it in JSGME mod format. Place it in your mod folder and then activate it. No way to screw up if you do it this way.
